FAIRFIELD

ALL ABOUT FAIRFIELD

Consistently named by Money magazine as one of the best places to live, Fairfield is located on the scenic, ecologically pristine Long Island Sound. It is famous for its beautiful landscape, community feel, quality cuisine, seacoast, and countryside living. It boasts five town beach and miles of sandy shores. In 2018, the Yankee Institute ranked Fairfield the most business-friendly community in the state: "Fairfield's economic vitality and transportation infrastructure push it to Number 1."

Fairfield center encompasses the historic district and is within walking distance to the train, shopping, and restaurants. The town's department of parks and recreation maintains 170 acres of parks, 5 miles of beaches, 36 athletic fields, 31 tennis courts, two golf courses, two marinas, and a fitness center. Fairfield and Sacred Heart Universities sponsor sporting events, musicals, theater & dance performances, and lectures.

Located 50 miles northeast of New York City, Fairfield has over 59,000 residents and is easily accessible by the Metro-North Railroad, Interstate 95, and the Merritt Parkway. Casual yet sophisticated, the town allows visitors to shop, browse the art galleries, and enjoy a show at the Fairfield Theatre Company. Spring, summer, fall, or winter, it's always a great time to visit Fairfield (but the autumn foliage is especially beautiful).

Award-Winning Public Schools

Fairfield Public Schools are consistently ranked among the top institutions in the state. Students engage in a rigorous academic program supplemented with instruction in the arts and physical education. Bus transportation to and from school is provided.

The mission of the Fairfield Public Schools, in partnership with families and the community, is "to ensure that every student acquires the knowledge and skills needed to be a lifelong learner, responsible citizen, and successful participant in an everchanging global society through a comprehensive educational program."
